Chris Metzen, the original World of Warcraft creative director, has announced his return to the studio. Metzen quit the business in 2016. General Manager of Warcraft John Hight made the declaration.
Hight claims that Metzen’s efforts will largely focus on World of Warcraft, with the possibility of later extending it to other projects.
Being connected with the Warcraft series in some capacity since the debut of the original Warcraft game, Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, Metzen has produced a significant amount of work for the series.
During his time with World of Warcraft, Metzen was known primarily for his work as part of the creative team, as well as his work as the voice actor for characters like Thrall.
World of Warcraft recently kicked off the first season of its Dragonflight expansion, bringing with it a host of new dungeons for Mythic+, as well as the expansion’s first raid.
